- Make sure you have a valid passport. Some countries require a period of validity that can stretch up to 6 months after the end of the trip and others do not accept temporary passports, if possible leave a photocopy of the passport with family members as well as contact details of the hotel where you will be staying.
- Check if your credit/debit cards are accepted in the destination country;
- Buy the ticket in good time and guarantee the conditions and means necessary for the trip. Make sure you have sufficient means to stay in the country and to return in case your return ticket expires;
- Check with your travel agent if you need a visa to enter the country of destination. If you do, don’t leave without obtaining a visa;
- Find out about any medical assistance agreements that may be in place with the countries of your destination;
- Get your European Health Insurance Card - EHIC if you are going to a country in the European Union. Find out at the Social Security website;
- Find out in advance if you need any special health care (e.g. vaccinations or special precautions). It is advisable to carry out a Traveller Appointment (bear in mind that some countries require the presentation of an international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever).
- Register on the free mobile application “Traveller Registration”, available for Android and IOS devices, allowing you to be immediately located and contacted in case of emergency, such as natural disasters, accidents or attacks. You can also register using the Traveller Registration Form.
- Painkillers and antipyretics for pain and fever.
- Antihistamines for allergies, itching from insect bites and travel sickness.
- Medicines for nausea and vomiting.
- Hydration mixture for the treatment of diarrhoea, particularly important if you are travelling with children.
- A disinfectant.
- Insect repellent, sunscreen and lip balm for chapped lips.
- Syringes and needles if you are being treated with an injectable medicine (only allowed in the hold luggage of the plane, unless special authorisation has been granted).
The limits on the weight and dimensions of the bags vary from company to company and according to the destination of the trip.
- Some companies charge additional fees for hold luggage and even for hand luggage.
- Place identification on the outside and inside of the suitcase.
- Take medicines, valuables and some essential items in your hand luggage in case your hold luggage gets lost.
- If you carry liquids, gels and aerosols, pastes, lotions, creams, drinks and other items of similar consistency in your hand luggage, they must be transported in containers with a capacity of no more than 100 ml. Those transported in recipients with more than 100 ml will not be accepted, even if the container is only partially full.
- These containers must be placed in a transparent plastic bag that can be opened and resealed, with a capacity of no more than one litre. See the list of prohibited items and the new restrictions on the transport of liquids. If in doubt, please consult us.
- Know and respect the restrictions of the country you are travelling to regarding the import of products of plant or animal origin.
- Avoid carrying wrapped gifts in hand luggage. You may need to unwrap them at the X-ray machines.
- Any loss, destruction or damage to luggage after it has been cleared is the responsibility of the carrier.
- You must file a claim with the airline straight after the incident. Proof of the claim is essential to trigger any baggage insurance you may have.
It depends on the destination of your trip. Within the European Union, citizens of these countries only need to have a valid citizenship card. If travelling outside the European Union, they must have a valid passport during their stay.
Prices are dynamic and subject to availability and the amount may change between the time you search and the time you actually book owing to alterations to exchange rates, transport costs, fuel costs, port and airport taxes etc.
When minors travel accompanied by their parents, it is always necessary to bring the minors' identity cards/citizen cards in order to prove parentage.
Whenever minors are not travelling accompanied by a person with parental authority, it is mandatory to display authorisation for this purpose. This authorisation must be written and dated and bear the legally certified signature of the person exercising parental authority, also conferring the authorisation of duly identified third parties to accompany the minors
